“At the age of ten I knew I would write a book”
I never imagined I would write a memoir.
In 2019 I began to write about the deep sense of belonging I experience in nature. Back then I had no idea where those pieces would lead me, or that they would become the starting point for a book. Nor could I have anticipated how the themes of healing and transformation would emerge from my story, Stepping out of Silence.
I have a framed photo on my desk of two-year-old me. She is in her own world, walking on a beach, totally oblivious to having her photo taken. I recognise her.
from Stepping out of Silence
“
Stillness found me and filled me,
I needed nothing more than to be there
watching the birds
my feet on solid ground,
becoming that landscape. ”
I needed nothing more than to be there
watching the birds
my feet on solid ground,
becoming that landscape. ”
